Old Couches Gone, Tassels, And Chair Dreams

Before:

AFTER!!! :))))

Ha! But you can now see my pile in the far corner... ;) That is my collection of stuff for my Arizona wall that I am still working on.

Now that the old furniture is gone I can actually visualize how I want this room to be.

But first I need to find two chairs. Until then, I am going to leave the new couch by the window. I was totally wrong. SO FAR at least. The cats haven't ONCE sat on the back cushions to look out the window. :))))) I am trying to decide if that wooden bench will still fit in my house. I hope so! We use it at our dining table whenever we have guests for meals.

Have you noticed anything new in the pictures?

I hung up the tassel garland I made! I just love how it looks. I didn't tie off the end though because I am not sure where it will hang when I redo this room. Then I can make it longer or shorter depending. I followed this tutorial: http://www.thehandmadehome.net/2014/11/make-tassel-garland-felt-yarn/

As for chairs, I really, REALLY wanted these two chairs from Ikea. In yellow.

But when I sat in one it was SO very uncomfortable. :(((
But I think they would have been so fun!

I did a high tech photo shop to show you. Heehee.

Now moving on to Plan B. Or should I say Dream B.

Lazyboy has some recliners that don't LOOK like recliners. AND they have legs. I want to try and find furniture that isn't too bulky and boxy so the room won't look so heavy.

I love it in this retro fabric.

And these are runners up.
But I must be practical. It terrifies me to not have furniture I can wash. My new couch has a completely removable and machine washable cover. These chairs have fixed fabric.

So these are the choices I would like in leather. I like the powder blue one best. If not this chair, I would love to find some sort of recliner.

These are some chairs from World Market and Pier 1. I would like to have one other chair for the family room. These four are all fabric/vinyl but I like the shapes.

But meanwhile....back on the ranch, we will be sitting on the floor if we don't all fit on the couch because I am not going to rush on buying two chairs. They need to be perfect. And at the best price for their value. But if you come over, I will let you, as the honored guest, sit on the new couch! :)
